The "Handicap" system had its origin at golf clubs because some players never win. Golf and hoese racing is the only sport in the world that use such "equalising" form of competing. That says it all.....its rubbish. No one is willing to admit that 1000s of players is dishonest and wiggle themself into a comfortable handicap far below their abilities in order to get a prize every week. The system will remain corrupt. Golf is a sport.....the man who practice wins. Stop this nonsense once and for all. It does not promote golf in general. Neither does it grow the players and club members numbers. Each club should have a order of merit based on results. 0-36 handicap is just mathematics. The golf establishment have huge challenges to face from here on in....and rightly so. Artificial surface golf, long drives, target shooting, shorter rounds, indoor golf and much more is going to discourage millions to stop spending so much on golf fees and membership exclusivity. The playing firld is being leveled absolute......hallelujah!

Physical ailments can be overwhelming, but one can overcome with various meds, orthotics, and willpower. The MENTALITY that it takes to compete in the sport one lives for, ON THE HIGHEST LEVEL IS the greatest obstacle to overcome combining the wide range of focuses, and ultimate drain to maintain that focus is a WHOLE 'NOTHER THING. HE NOT ONLY PLAYED AND COMPLETED THE OPEN, BUT HE WON!

I don't know if Steve was interviewed before or after Tiger's terrible life changing moment of us knowing how he was living. It's hard for me to listen to him talk about this penultimate moment in Tiger's life and golf history. The way he distanced himself from His Man, so-called friend, and boss, PISSED ME TO NO END. I'm not STUPID AS to think just because he knew what he was DOING that only a select few knew. But HOW, even if you had talks with him about his lifestyle, and he didn't change. You don't assist with burying him AT A MOST CRITICAL TIME IN HIS LIFE BRO.

This is stupid. Sounds like a liberal made this. Notice how the guy had to catch himself from calling it fair and changed hit word to proper? You want to know how you stack up to someone else? Compare score cards at the end of the game and do some 2nd grade math.

Certainly a defining moment in all of our minds, and also in the minds of sports fans worldwide. Well done Rocco, I would have fallen apart.

TW is special; it has been a privilege to be golf aware in the Era of Tiger Woods.

He tied the US Open record for shots taken as well as breaking a ton of records during that journey. BUT, that just goes to show how good previous players were with inferior clubs, etc. Give credit where it's due. I'm certainly not taking anything from Tiger as he's just always been a phenom. I'm just hoping that before I die I can see at least one person to surpass him.

Announcers should once in a while remind viewers why players hit irons off the idea instead of drivers, especially in the majors. Explain to the audience why there is less risk hitting an iron, and why irons are easier to hit. I have never heard anyone explain it, and most casual observers would have no clue watching the telecast. I would even argue that for the average hack golfer, they would have more risk hitting irons in high pressure important spots.

the payne stewart worshipping got a little out of hand because of his early demise. Old Tom Morris won by 13 against a small field in the 1800's. That record stood until the 2000 U.S. Open. I don't think Tiger's 15 shot record will ever be broken. The fields just keep getting deeper and deeper as time goes by. It's stunning that he did this in the modern era.

Hogan's ball striking was something to behold, yes, however his course management was almost ridiculous. Those two areas of his game made him a fierce competitor, and while people will go on about his swing and how well he struck the ball, his ability to break down a course was phenomenal. Wonderful player.

To make a 25 footer, then one from 7 and one from 15 on the last 3 holes to win a US Open...that's just epic. You could see Mickelson walking when he hit that last putt fully expecting him to miss and I'll guarantee that he was 100% expecting a playoff the next day. Phil looked shocked when he made it. It depends on what your standards are...TW had far more to deal with than Jack...Jack only had to play great golf; TW dealt with serious racial haters; most media spend most of their time trashing TW....they praise him for a couple of minutes out of thiry minutes & beat TW down for 28 minutes..no disrespect to Jack and his greatness but he didn't have media & fan hate to deal with at TW's level. TW has the strongest mental focus; not saying TW is more intelligent than Jack...Jack was the man...few people in world knows that Jack has his on money; Jack's picture is on money from Scottland...DAMN!!
