Uh no this is wrong you do not want that much in the hole it’s basic fluid dynamics of the fluid can’t come out of the top then it will be pressurized and crack whatever you threaded that bolt into

You most certainly have never worked with your hands before. Most guys quite literally use exactly 1 drop near the center of the length of the fastener when using blue loctite. You're gonna make some dude real mad at his kid or the new guy at work for spooging a hard to reach screw with this crap.

This DE-vid is why we need a thumbs down counter still. Just outright bad information, and people can’t tell.

I actually took a class hosted by a Loctite representative, paid for by my previous work. They stated that you're only supposed to cover up 3 or 4 thread's distance of a bolt with Loctite. If you need more tight, use the correct color Loctite. Their website tells you exactly what you need for what job.
XPNDBLhero Vor Tag
Wow, No.... Don't ever do this or you will be cursed by the bolt God's. Just put 1 grain of rice worth on the bolt and let it dry for 10 minutes or so then install... It's better to let it dry completely but, you know, humans are lazy. LoL

This is the farthest from the correct use of lock tight I’ve ever seen, those bolt aren’t coming out, not without braking the bolt or damaging the work piece, unless you took the bolts back out before it cured, Even if it’s blue lock tight, the only good thing about this is the fact it’s not red lock tight……… but you do you I guess.

This is got to be one of the most ridiculous things I have ever seen. everybody knows that you put a little bit on the threads before you put the bolt in if you want to get the fucking thing back out.... This is absolutely ridiculous once the thread lock sets up,, the bolt is never comeing out!

A small dab on part of it is enough. This is excessive and a waste. It’s also never coming off ever again and could ruin what ever you use it on. Even if you don’t expect to ever remove it you may have to and with this much you made repair impossible.

- Next step is apply threadlock in, out and over the screw head. - Last step: *MAKE A SCREW OUT OF THREADLOCK*
Derminateur Gaming
That stuff isn't made to totally lock this in place, just a tiny bit on the bolt in enough. You just don't want it to unscrew itself ffs

jason stricklin
jason stricklin Vor 2 Tage
I always was taught when using thread lock the idea was to only coat the bottom 3-5 threads of the bolt. You don't wanna add so much that when it's time to change a part you can't even get a wrench with enough leverage to even dare untighten the bolt without striping out your hole in the process or break the bolt entirely. Just a dab will do you And depending on the task the bolt will need to be proforming there are 3 strength types to chose from Blue-light Red-heavy Green-vibration Resistant strength about equal to red.
Walnutter Vor 2 Tage

do NOT do it the way they did it at the end. especially if you’re working on engines. that will hydro-lock the bolt, so the thread lock will block the bolt from going down as far as possible and that will give you an incorrect torque reading, which can be catastrophic for an engine. just use about half of what he used in the first example.

Hondaguy91 Vor 2 Tage
Correct use according to a loctite salesman? The first example was enough loctite to do 10 fasteners. You don't need that much and the 3rd example is a good way to make sure you make a mess and can't torque the fastener because you hydraulically locked it.

Jesus no, blue threadlocker isn't meant to be able to come out, and that much definitely isnt. Use red threadlocker for permanent fixtures but either way use waaaaaay less
IrishRebel92 Vor 2 Tage
It's not about making sure the bolt doesn't come out ever again. It's about making sure it doesn't come out long enough that is the next guys problem.....
Jay ThatGuyYouKnow
Wow dude, put a few drops or a thin line on the (clean/new) fastener (one the size shown in this video) then let it sit and dry for about 2 minutes to get a little bit tacky then install it (after making sure where it’s going is clean as well). I can only wonder how many hydro-locked fasteners we will start to encounter in next year. The amount of likes this video has got vs it’s amount of comments scares me. I know my fellow wrench slayers that try to do their job right will be the ones to pay in spades for this video.

you'll compress the fluid in the bottom of the blind hole and the pressure will strip the thread as it forces the bolt back up

You don’t need even close to that much. The first bolt was the closest, but even that was way too much. Quick way to make a mess, waste threadlocker, and damage parts.

First of all that's way too much. Second of all if that's polycarbonate the thread locker will destroy it. It causes a chemical reaction and it's spider webs and weakens the polycarbonate

A moment for this poor human who thinks this is correct ...... thankfully the mass of comments saying how incorrect this is will hopefully steer the inexperience in the right direction. It makes me wonder if people just put out incorrect info knowing they'll get gobs of comments saying it's wrong.... but comments pay regardless of their feedback...
