@NickyDotGaming to be fair if you watch kids show now, they put an emphasis on ways to help and not be a bystander and there's a focus on emotional intelligence too. Just watch Daniel tiger's neighborhood. That child is always mad about something but the purpose of the show is to learn to overcome things on your own without acting out... I was just saying that because my kids see people they relate to more often, they prefer to watch those movies/shows

That was such a sweet story! I loved the tenderness of the dad and daughters relationship, the daughter's hair is clearly a strong part of her identity and I was happy to see the father's reaction to his daughter being upset was remorse and not anger and everything coming together with the father-daughter duo conquering those locks and having that bonding experience, love it! Love that!

He married a hair stylist who created a video channel to help other women do their own hair styling. He knows how important hair is the identity of women. He just never had to do hair other then his own before, his wife always did. I think he saw it as something that was important to his wife and daughter alone until he realized it could be something for him as well. All he needed was some patience and guidance.

Look I'm white as can be but I find this to be the best black representation in media in YEARS! usually any media presented towards the black community is meant for pandering and showing sides but this, THIS is pure joy and shows us a beautiful story of family and love! This shows a good healthy family unit without stereotypes unlike in most media and I couldn't be happier with the tears this animation made me shed. The dad is trying so hard and clearly loves his wife and daughter and the mom just seems to be a beautiful person inside and out!

Loved this, I was that little girl, that's my exact hair length and type. I still struggle trying to do styles online. My dad did my hair as a child and each person who helped with the big job of doing my hair as a kid has left me with warm memories. I wish I knew how to do all the different styles shown but I didn't have anyone to teach me creative styles like that. Anyways, great video, I felt represented and you reminded me of warm memories.

@Amber Earls I understand you. To this day I'm still learning better ways to manage and style my hair. Spend much of my life spending hours doing it daily. I now try to help my nieces and nephews with hair products and tips so they can feel more confident. I try to wear it curly around them so they see me embracing my natural hair. DE-vid has been a dream with so many POC giving full detailed hair routines, tips, products, all this stuff. I get to see people embracing their curls and textures and finding styles that are creative and complimentary. I'm 36 but I'm having fun with my hair again. Other great thing about natural hair is its volume, so as you age and your hair thins, you'll still look like you have a full head of hair!! It's why so many woman get curly perms in their 60s. Endless possibilities.

People hated doing my hair because there was so much of it, so I grew up hating it. What’s funny is, my mom never made me feel that way, even I’m getting a perm WAY TOO YOUNG. Watching Zuri cry broke my heart because I remember feeling the same way at her age.

SAME!!! Also here are my tips: 1. Keep it moisturized. Curly/coily hair needs moisture so it doesn't get too dry and brittle since unlike straight or wavy hair, the natural oils don't just come down 2. Use protective styling. It can help it grow and stay protected since you're not manipulatiing it too much because if you do that, it can get weaker and break off 3. Try to avoid heat too often since it can damage it 4. Sleep with a silk/satin bonnet or pillow case since there is less friction and it won't cause split ends 5. Don't wash your hair everyday. Try to only wash it once or twice a week depending on how oily/dirty it is 6. Trim the split ends but not too often. Once every 3 months is good 7. Oh and banding can help with shrinkage And that's it! That's how I do my hair and i hope it helps you too

This brought back some memories for me. When I was very young (4 or 5) my mom's legs got crushed and broken in a bad car accident. While she was in the hospital my dad had to do my sister's hair. Of course he had it looking jacked and when we went to visit my mom she saw my sister's hair and started laughing. My dad and I had to go to the store and buy a list of hair products so my mom could redo my sister's hair right there in her hospital room. She was in pain, her legs had metal braces and pins in them and she could barely move but she still fixed my sister's hair and had my dad take detailed notes. By the time my mom was discharged a month later my dad's hair skills were almost as good as hers.

i remember one day i had this big event when i was a kid, my mom wasn't there and my dad was fighting with my hair just like that, but unlike the dad in this movie, my dad gave up. He failed to properly moisturize, detangle, and slick the hair back, he just tied my hair in a high bun living me with what looked like an afro and a tiny bun at the top. Everybody laughed at me, it was embarrassing, and something like that can definitely leave a kid traumatized. Today, I wear my hair in locs, I've had locs for the past six years and they are my pride and joy, but I still disliked my hair for a long long time before that. I just wish that more black parents, especially fathers will take the time to know more about afro hair and teach their children to appreciate their hair🤎

@Monica Young Really? I guess the good thing is it played in front of something, but Angry birds 2?! This short is better then the entire movie.

When I was younger I really wanted straight hair, And I was tired if having natural hair. But I used to watch this video every wash day and it helped me grow to love me hair. So thank you!

When Sony animation isn't focusing on dumb movies, they can make some really beautiful & emotional pieces of art.

@Carbuncle from Puyo Puyo You can blame Disney for that. They think it's such a great idea to make ANOTHER Toy Story film, when everyone was happy that the franchise is over, to make everyone forget about the NON-companies and snub DreamWorks out of the Best Animated Feature award.

Madison C The person is referring to the movies released Pre-Spiderverse like Open Season, Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 1& 2, Planet 51, The Smurfs 1 & 2, Hotel Transylvania franchise and of course the one they made over the cancelled film Popeye.... The Emoji Movie.

This made me cry!!! So many times the world portrays black men in negative light! It just feel good to see another side that is rarely shown even if it is an animation👏👏👏💞

I remember being in her shoes as a kid. Having thick, 4c hair wasn't something I loved about myself, but as I got older I learned to appreciate the beauty and thickness of my hair. This hits home.

Yeah I used to hate my curls and my mom would always tell me they were cute but I never realized that it's kinda nice until I was older...and actually knew how to keep a hair care regiment going

mayawilliams35 Same here! Growing up I had thick 3b/3c hair and I hated it. Now that i'm grown I love my hair and love how unruly and curly it is! I always keep it out and everywhere now! 😊

@Allanah Kelly Figuring out your hair type can be fustrating. There's the obvious categories like straight, wavy, curly, and coily, but there are also several other factors to consider in pinpointing your unique hair type, including your hair’s porosity and scalp moisture. I suggest watching a few DE-vid videos about finding your *curl type*
