Mr. German Man's real name is Stefan... And we’re married! But seeing as I'm from the USA and he is from Germany, how did we meet? Here’s that story today!

I met my German boyfriend trough tinder. I didn’t like him at first, it took me two months to agree to meet up. When we meet up the second time, he invited me to his house and yes I used his bathroom, why did I bring up the bathroom? Lol when I got ready to leave, he called me to the bathroom to point out to me that I didn’t close the top of the toilet and pretty much told me I don’t know how to use toilet correctly. Lol I don’t think Americans people would do that, especially not on the 1st or second date (too honest perhaps). He’s too honest and sometimes what he said hurts my feelings, very very strict, he has his own way of doing everything, and if you don’t do it right, he will say it to your face.

It's funny I talk with my friend on Skype tonight who lives in Biskirchen (north of Frankfurt) often. We met in 1992 at the monastery Andechs over some beers, imagine that having a beer in Germany. Anyway he mentioned that tonight it must have been fate we met and have stayed GOOD FRIENDS all these years. We have traveled back and forth many times over the years to see each other in person. We live in Toronto, Canada. One other note I believe people are people and friendly its the GOVERNMENTS that kind of screw things up. PS - I really like your videos, your easy going, friendly and SEEM to care about peoples feelings. Quite nice and keep up the good work.

As I said, she was my superior and so I was coward to date her but she also noticed, that there was more between us than only colleagues and ride sharing. Well, now we are married since 13 years and have 2 wonderfull daughters.

I actually don't remember the first day I met my bf. I know it was new year's eve 2011/2012 (as he remembers and there are some pictueres that proofe that he was there :D) we had a very big party going on there and since he is a very shy boy, I didn't really notice him. But I did notice that he suddenly did hang out with my friend group more often. (He's actually the "small" brother of my best friend's brother's friend (is this sentence even correct???)) first i thought he didn't like me because he never talked to me. Luckily I wasn't willing to stop "annoying" him with small talk every time I saw him because I can't stand the feeling you get when seeing people nearly every weekend but never talk to them. Turns out he was actually just overwhelmed by me and to shy to talk. Shy boy and me are now a couple of 6 years

I met my German man in Hamburg...I was with a friend on a Europe trip to England, Scotland and Germany. While in Germany I met my now sister-in-law. She had spent some time in NJ going to college and knew my friend from her time in college. The first night in Germany at a kniepe, my first German beer and Bauernfrühstück ...she looked at me and said you would be perfect for my brother. I met him a day later...and he was great. Funny thing was at the time he was still going to University in Houston. One year later after he came back after graduation and I was in Germany for an Au-pair year we ended up getting married...that was 22 yrs ago.

I actually met my husband when I was 10 years old when my family moved next door to his. ❤️ first we were enemies because he took me to introduce me to his best friend a couple of blocks away, and left me waiting outside. I had to find my own way home, in a new neighborhood on the 2 nd day we lived there. But then over the next few years we slowly became friends, then best friends. Finally in our early 20s we got together and a year later we had our daughter and then got married. We have been married for 16 years and now have a son as well.

Twentyfive years ago I lived in a city and was looking for a girl to maybe marry. In the same city lived a Turkish family I knew They knew about my search. The oldest daughter of this family was married with a man in Belgium. Her father in law had come to visit his daughter in law's family. His inlaw family told him about me and my search. He got curious and they called me to say to come to their house. Here I met this father in law of the eldest daughter. This was in July 1993. He went back to his village in Turkey to search for a girl for me to maybe marry. Three September 1993 I got a message from Turkey telling me to come to Turkey, because he had found a girl. Ten September I took a plane to Turkey to meet with this girl.. Because, her father had gone to Istanbul she wanted to wait until her father had returned from Istanbul before meeting with me. Sixteen Septembet we met for the very first time. Between July and September we never had any contact with each other. The next day, 17 September 1993, I met her father. Eighteen September we went to her elderly house to ask for her hand. Twenty-one September we got engaged. And two days later, 23 September 1993, we got married. That is how I met my Turkish wife. Now, we are almost married for 25 years and have three sons. You felt that pull to go to Europe and to look back before leaving the bar.Your whole story sounds like everything was ment to be. The same goes for me. In 1983/84 I had a feeling to learn a third foreign language.Beside English and German. After trying a few languages I found the Turkish language. Which I learned through self-study from a book from the local public liibrary. Because of learning the Turkish language I was able to communicate with the girl, her family and everybody else. This is how I met Miss Turkey.

I met my wife (900 miles away) in 2005 on Match.com. I was writing to a woman, a pop-up with 3 women’s pictures came up, she looked like Betty Crocker, so I wrote to her. I wrote, “Kentucky is a fer piece from TX.” She got mad when I suggested she write to another Christian guy in KY! I went to visit right after having sinus surgery, and her having a hysterectomy. I snored all night. We were married in 6 weeks!

Aww that's a great story! I met my best friend ever online on a penpal site, I love learning about Germany and the differences to the US. So many sterotypes were broken in the first 6 months. He showed me the first video of yours about the windows in Germany( very cool by the way) but my question is the same as yours....why no screens? I had always wanted to live in Europe and had been making slow progress in finding the practical info on how to do this. I work as a teacher for small children with autism. He mentioned I may be able to do this in Germany, not my original plan but going somewhere with a great friend already there sounded like a great place to start. One of your videos mentioned teaching English to children in kindergarten YAY! Now I watch a minimum of 3-5 videos a day mostly yours and follow your tips on learning German. Its awesome having his practical and efficient advice and yours as well. Hopefully I'll be there soon! Auf Wiedersehen!

Mr German Man got very lucky, seems like a really nice guy. I never found anyone that cares for me... Had lots of women, but no one sweet that stayed. Once I did had that woman and everything else in my life, engaged, suddenly the gov. kicked me out of my house, for no reason and put me in a sort of concentration-camp. 30% of people died there until I escaped, that happened in The Netherlands. I still miss my love and cry sometimes even after years....

Very cool story. Your husband and you seem open minded to new ideas. So cute together. My story is this....(since you asked) I too lived in Palm Beach county Fl but was not liking the dating scene. So I opened up the area on match.com to the entire U.S and flipped through hundreds pages of photos until....I saw this really attractive guy’s photo. He had long blonde hair (totally radical for me being an uptown girl). I left him an online message and said “I like your hair”. He responded rather quickly, saying, “Thanks I like it too”. Being the smarty pants south Florida girl that I was...I replied back, “ what kind of response is that?” Referring to how he liked his own hair. That began the conversation between us. Both of us never expected to meet as he lived in Kansas and I in FL and thought we could just talk online and that would be it. Well that conversation lasted several hours followed by many more conversation in the days, weeks, months to follow. Then I decided it was time to fly to meet him in person and in a public place where everyone would be around. I also decided to get my own hotel room so I could bail if things didn’t feel right. (I didn’t want him to know where I lived in FL) Well...everything worked out great and after other visits back and forth I felt it was safe to see his home located out in the country. (my friend warned me if I saw a wood chipper and a collection of unicorns to run) thankfully no wood chippers but talk about culture shock. He lived in a very small town of about 500 population. His property had 10 acres, a cute cabin, pond, creek and a cute dog. While there we decided to go to the nearest town to eat. I had white jeans with a pretty top, jewelry and makeup with a nice tan and wow did I got STARRED at. People in Rural Kansas do not dress like south Floridians. Fast forward....Yep, I moved to Kansas. The people are so friendly and incredible. Last week we celebrated our 14 year wedding anniversary. Tschüss!!

I met my first husband at 19 thru his brother whom I worked with at a Kmart I was asked to work for the holidays(my friend was the personnel manager, and she thought it would be cool to get all of us who went to college together to work at KMart for the Holiday season. I was hired a few weeks early because the assistant manager(my soon-to-be brother-in-law) was getting married and the entire dept(sporting goods)was invited to the wedding(which my DH flew home from Germany where he was stationed in the US Army to be his brother's Best Man). What was even funnier was that my sister was going to be the photographer's assistant to this wedding! After the wedding(my soon to be BIL & his wife were KMart employees and decided to take the week-end off for the wedding and take a honeymoon later) the assistant manager(my soon to be BIL) was back at work on Monday and when I reported for work, I was upset, due to the fact the guy I was dating upset me(He couldn't kiss worth a darn! I know, that's a stupid reason to get upset) and when I went to work, the assistant manager asked me what my issue was...he had never seen me upset at all. I told him it wasn't something that I wanted to discuss, and set about tearing a section of shelving apart, while this guy (my soon to be BIL) kept trying to figure out WHY I was acting differently?!!! He finally came over and said, " It's the guy your dating isn't it?" I looked at him SURPRISED he figured it out( I was only 19...come on!) and when he came BACK again, he said: " Hey, I have a solution to your dating issues." REALLY? With that, he pulled out his wallet and showed me this horrible Graduation photo of his younger brother. I shrugged my shoulders and said "Sure, why not? Call him." With that, BIL to be rushed over to the phone placed a call(now mind you I wasn't dressed in my best clothes due to the fact I was tearing down shelves etc and then soon to be BIL said: "Terry will be here in 20 minutes!" Really? The way I was dressed? ( not to mention back in the 70's we wore wigs and hairpieces a lot and I had on a dark wig, but I am actually blond) So, 20 minutes later, Terry arrives and comes up to the counter, looking I suppose for what his brother told him was a blond girl and asked for his brother. I went to get his brother, then we were introduced and I took my break. During the break we made a date....and within 3-4 days I had met the man I was going to marry! I fell head over heels in love with Terry....we dated for 2 1/2 weeks, he returned to his US Army base in Germany. By Valentine's Day, he sent me home an engagement ring! We married in June of 1974, and I spend the next 18 months over in Germany with him...We were married for almost 29 yrs at the time of his death.....he was an amazing man, my soulmate, love of my life. Thanks for letting me reminisce about how I met the most amazing man in my life...i would do anything, absolutely anything for one more day, one more hour, one more minute with this man......Thanks again! (BTW...I loved living in Germany. Would love to go back! )
