i think the horse is a good horse, and she is a good rider but he seemed pretty eager and forward which is why she seemed to be going so hard on the reins. the course seemed way too extreme and tight though, I definitely wouldn’t want to take my horse through this. the first couple jumps there seemed horrible, the horses leg caught on the rail too.

Very nice horse and ride. However he was blowing through her half halts and acting like he knew best. Hopefully some more schooling in that area has happened so she can get off his mouth!

funny how some people say shes being waay to rough and others say she keeps loseing her reins and im just agreeing with everyone who says she's just an amazing rider and yeah sure she pulled at time and also let the reins go a bit at others but only to aajust to the difficult course.

Leading? she was ALL over the place. Hard hands lead to a hard mouthed horse. and that, in turn, requires HARDER hands. I am fully aware of the difficulty of this course. She is an amazing rider. but come on. anyone can see that the entire course was ridden messily, strides were off a lot, lots of rubbing the jumps. I personally think that it’s the course and her hands and steering that threw the horse off completely

She doesn't have soft hands...70% of the people will say the only reason they use bits is bc they have soft hands...I bet she's one of them.

Grace Equine - just cause the tracks bad doesn’t mean it’s alright to rip your horses face off and whip them or spur them to go over a tight jump when the have no head. If they actually thought for a second and knew it’s was a rough track and they were gonna have rough hands then they would of considered going bitless for that one run to lay off of the horses mouth or not ride in spurs of not go with a whip if they knew that they were gonna be a hard in the horse. Also take in consideration of the horse. There probs confused as hell, having them whipped and tugged. Sorry, this type of riding get me rlly triggered

The horse is not a TB- he got rather strong on the latter part of the course. A lesser rider would have been run away with. she kept the precision to negotiate those narrow jumps. When a horse is tired you lose the power steering. Don't be so critical of the rider. Have you ever ridden a horse at the gallop for four miles??? Even without all those humongous jumps?

I'm not 100% sure, but I think that she was letting the horse gallop on the forehand during the gallops between the jumps to save energy and then she had to get his head up again before the jumps.

It's called grease... It's something you can apply to the chest, belly and legs to that if a horse gets too close to the jump or lands on it, they slide off easily instead of getting stuck

for me, she is one of the best riders in the world. but still i found her hands pretty harsh during this ride. but i think that's not because of the rider's technique, but because of this sick cross country course. it is simply not possible to ride this course successfully without pulling the reins so bad.
glockenrein Vor 2 Monate
Watching her helmet camera videos puts things into perspective a little for me. He usually does NOT want to slow down and tries to tune her out. If she let him they'd barrel into things with 40km/h - I prefer the harsh hands.
Nymoria Vor 2 Monate
A bit can only be as soft as a rider's hand. Doesn't matter if you have rubberbit, it can still be harder in the hands of the inexperienced than hackamore in the hands of the experienced. The bit is not the key, but how you use it.
