Taking My Korean Grandma to Cheesecake Factory🍰  

I am so happy in my heart, that you give us your Grandmother. I adore her. I agree about the bread. It seems to be that way at a few restaurants since COVID. Maybe it's a staff shortage result.

The sugar water and loving sweet things is definitely something I've noticed in elderly Koreans and Korean boomers. My theory is that it stems from surviving scarcity during and after the Korean war. My dad was lucky enough to be from a well off family and told me whenever he went to his poorer friends' houses, their mum would mix sugar and water as a treat for the kids. This was so special to the kids and they'd be super hyped like, "MY MUM IS GIVING US EXTRA SUGAR IN THE WATER BECAUSE I TOLD HER YOU LET ME EAT THE WHITE RICE FROM YOUR LUNCHBOX SOMETIMES HELL YEAH". Wild times.

We went to the Cheesecake Factory ONCE &&& I’ll never go back lol. Not for real food anyway. I got a pasta dish. Noodles were CRUNCHY 😂 &&& they slapped a whole HUGE ICE SCREAM SCOOP OF RICOTTA CHEESE right on top 😩😩😩 I’ll never go back lol.
