When an Anime only focuses on Boxing

Desmond getting jumped arc was my favorite arc. The plot twist and emotional weight of it all brought me to tears.

The way he said "The thing about all of this is" randomly and then just *left* the crime scene gets me everytime 😂

If you look carefully, there is a plot. Leland and Desmond were enjoying their time boxing each other, then a random Dylan appeared and started boxing with them. Mark, the main villain showed up, and started organizing them into groups. Ben, his main henchman, tried recruiting Desmond, failed, then recruited Leland instead. Now everyone who worked for Mark proceeded to jump Desmond, who was still riding solo. But in the end Leland and Desmond remembered their rivalry (their "Battle Days") and worked together to beat Mark, ending organized crime. They then went back to beating each other up in solitude. All that without any dialogue. Masterpiece.

You have to read the story that happens during the boxing. When Desmond snuck Mark, it was him demonstrating how he rejects Mark’s antiquated sense of morality. It conveyed the fundamental ideological differences of their opposing philosophies. Truly brilliant.

We need a show like this for real. Just boxing, limited talking, just beautiful animation and boxing.

Desmond went from Villain to Victim to Vindicated and back to Villain. Wonder character development.

Honestly, if a battle anime ended with an author note which turns into a whole another fight, but live action and following the actual author, that would be so awesome.

The story was wonderful! The Benjamin vs. Leland arc was full of drama and tension! I almost teared up during that arc! Truly the best arc of Battle Days! Dylan Patel has outdone himself with this truly inspiring anime!

Dylan Patel has been all over the place recently. From winning the Suburb Olympics with quite fashion, to now being a Story Telling of the year artist. Man this kid is something special. Truly one of a kind for the Indian community

When you don't have the budget for the emotional flashbacks, internal monologues, and power of friendship. The word from the author segment wasn't scripted; that was just the author defending himself from the debt collector.

Plot twist, all of the anime's plot is developed in the OVAs. The message being that fighting distracts us from actually solving the issue and that resorting to violence ultimately solves nothing. Battle Days is truly a masterpiece, Dylan Patel is an absolute genius author.

I won't spoil the anime only watchers, but I'm glad there's a season two coming out. The manga was fire 🔥

I love the way they depicted the ending song and credits rolling in abruptly as soon as the episode ends. That is so legit in these shows, like, two guys are screaming while they're about to exchange punches and the end credits roll in alongside the loud ass ending song abruptly at the 23-25M mark, right there or thereabouts and it's 110% accurate. Another awesome one, guys. My homies always staying true to life and anime troupes/conventions.

Battle Days was a great show, excellent groundbreaking concept no talking, just boxing and it still told the story perfectly. 10/10 would recommend.

The first two guys were rivals that were trained in the same dojo since they were children. The third guy was another one of their classmates who always thought he was stronger than both and evil, the fourth is there old master who is also evil. The first guy in the black turns evil temporarily to defeat his rival, but flashbacks to the times they pushed each other and the respect they gained so he instead teams up to defeat the evil student and teacher. Finally, the rival remember why they were fighting in the first place and comes to a conclusion that there must be winner between the two.

Can we appreciate how far RDC World got? Them cuts with the punches were clean enough to look real 😂 and i love how it’s the same crew too bruh

It's amazing how far these brothers gotten in a bit over a decade of content creating.

The anime and Manga adaptation really did the novel dirty. What they lack in dialogue they more than make up for with some of the greatest prose you have ever read. It's straight up poetry how each fight was written, no word was wasted, the amount of depth and nuance on every sentence that was on display is just immaculate.

The thrashing of Desmond was one of the most brutal beat downs in anime history. It was more brutal than the spokivich beat downs.edit:I got four likes I'm very famous thank you

"Battle Days" was absolutely life changing. I have never witnessed such masterful wordless story telling. Not to mention incredible fight choreography that makes you feel like the author has based each fight off personal life experience. The author "Dylan Patel" has definitely made a statement with his debut piece and I look forward to whatever he may work on next. (Battle Days - 10/10)

Finally a series where the title is 100% accurate... There was definitely battling and all scenes in fact were during the day, no wonder Dylan is receiving such high praise for the dedication this series has. I look forward to his next project Night Fights and expect him to take his storytelling to the next level as impossible as that sounds after this masterpiece.

I like the arc where Mark says "This is just like the war!" And proceeds to body slam Leland. A really defining character moment.

Battle Days is obviously an all-time great anime, but you have to watch the subbed version to get the full essence of the story

how can you all miss the nuances and emotions of this show. if you read character , skin and material description of it's visual novel an data books. you will realise this show has such an amazing world building . This world's currency is hitting on jaws , the more jaws you hit the more currency you have, also you lose money for getting hit. the character mark plays is the main antagonist of the show and is the richest person in this world since he never got hooped , mark was famous for doing hit and run , he laso had payed goons that helped him whoop more and more ass. But the world looked at him like a champion , as he was rich and respected .

This reminds me of Primal. Almost no dialogue for most of the story but it still managed to weave a beautiful epic about love, loss, hate revenge and survival in a harsh primeval world. And for those who weren't paying attention, *Ultra Violence!*

To be honest, if ya'll made a short series of Battle Days where it is literally just fighting with rarely any dialogue, I'd watch it. Like, get in contact with Corridor Crew, they can get in touch with Gui Dasilva (who is the stunt double of Black Panther) to help direct the combat sequences for all 6 episodes.

This is the best anime tbh, no context, no 30 min filler episodes, pure action.

Man I wish there was an anime that was only choreographed fighting. like no dialogue. Just high intensity, well animated fighting. Of ALL kinds. Regular street fights, kung fu, shonen anime fights. all of it

Imagine an anime like this where the main focus is trying to reveal what the plot is but each episode never reveals it and instead leaves us on a cliffhanger, we get shit tons of new characters, beautiful and fluid fight scenes with great choreography, and good voice acting.

This ain’t bad, I’d watch this. I get mad when ppl be talking in between fighting. Like, you’re not gonna make me feel bad about a villain who’s killed hundreds of people by making him explain his terrible backstory of how he was neglected or abused as a child. In the end, you became what you hated the most, all to get rid of any possible thing that could make you feel the way that you did as a child. Even if it kills everyone in the process.

Mark, come now...CLEARLY this show is a sleeper! You just have to buy the novel that explains the story ahead of time to understand it!
